I get so much good stuff to show my art students through this website. They compile some great stuff. Click on the photos below to see recent posts that I think relate to what the 9th Grade Art Classes have chosen to work on.

People use the term too loosely but this is the very definition of epic! Enjoy. Great video. Everyone engaged in education... which is to say EVERYONE, should watch this video! I know this video to be true both as a entrepreneurial learner myself and as a teacher of young, vibrant minds.
You may know one. You may be one. This may be a fairly simplistic look at what it means and feels like to be a creative type... but I feel like it rings pretty true. Check it out. Big shout out to Katie D for an awesome sculpture in the mix. You rock girl!Presenting and "representing" at the Art Educators of Iowa's Annual Fall conference.I really feel like the phenakistascope is my "Rosebud." I want this to work so badly in my classes- but last year it was an abject failure. We'll see if I can make it work- maybe as an art club activity. I think it's such a great STEAM project- nice tie in with optics, physics, science, etc. This video really encapusaltes so much of what I'm interested in as an artist and also what filters down to my students. Monsters, mythology, fantasy, sci-fi, old-timey movies and animation. Love it. |
